ABOUT US

The ACG has produced  'A Framework for (the continuation and future development of) the Effective Partnership' between the Association (ACG) and the LA.  It is intended that it will strengthen the partnership between schools and the LA and facilitate the achievement of the shared aims and objectives which include:

  • promoting achievements in Croydon schools;
  • promoting high standards of governance in Croydon Schools;
  • promoting mutual trust and transparency between the Local Authority and schools by working in partnership.

The ACG and The Local Authority will work together to uphold these aims and objectives by:

  • ensuring that the independent democratic forum open to all school governors in Croydon is an important vehicle for consultation;
  • assisting governors to improve the outcomes for all  children in schools in Croydon by ensuring that the five strand of The Every Child Matters (ECM) agenda are fully met;
  • encouraging all governors to actively participate in the work of the ACG;
  • identifying and promoting high standards in school governance; providing suitable channels for expressing the collective views of governors and make appropriate representation at local and national level;
  • ensuring good relationships with Government Departments and outside agencies;
  • to act collectively to protect the integrity of education in Croydon and within the ACG’s membership;
  • seeking to improve and increase services to governors;
  • ensuring equal opportunity for all in our service delivery by treating all people with dignity and respect and recognising the value of each individual, regardless of race, gender, disability, age, sexuality and religion
